Biography
James Meeker has been engineering, producing and writing music for
over 20 years. Starting out as a freelance engineer James worked with
many artists until becoming a staff engineer at SOR Studios in Toledo,
Ohio specializing in hard rock and hip hop music. James then joined
Strawberry Fields Recording Studio becoming the chief producer and
engineer. After a few years he decided to join the staff at Lava Room
where he continues to be a vital member of the engineering staff.
James has worked with many artists including Layzie Bone (Bone Thugs N
Harmony), Shirley King, Punchline, Jason Sherwood, and the 2006 Black
Music Awards winner of best new artist, Purpose.
James specializes in producing and recording rock, metal, electronic
and hip hop music. His engineering style is big, larger-than-life, but
with a natural, organic sound. As a producer James' ability to pay
attention to detail, while never losing sight of the big picture,
results in projects that remain true to the artist's vision. James is
also an accomplished mixing engineer capable of breathing life into
any production. Due to his interest in industrial and electronic
music, James is fluent in synthesis, sampling, sequencing and MIDI
technology.
