On monday, June 8th, Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox decided to make one of their 2015 tour stops at Lava Room Recording. If you aren’t already familiar, Postmodern Jukebox is a group of musicians producing covers of pop songs in the style of jazz and swing. Since forming in 2013, the band has gone viral. They post YouTube videos along with the accompaniments they record that get a lot of attention. Their tour has also spread to other countries across the world.
According to the group, they stop at least twice a month to studios nearby the venues on their tour and continue to record and film these flourishing tunes. When they stopped by Lava Room this past week, they entered with big smiles, preparing to grind out the day as they set up their cameras and instruments. Included were drums, saxophone, stand up bass, backup vocals, lead vocals, and Scott Bradlee on the piano as always. The crew even brought their own tap dancing floor board for a special tap dancing number. They recorded a total of 3 songs, one being a cover of a recent release from Usher.
Make sure to check out their Youtube channel as well as music and tour tickets.
